I'm crocheting an ami pattern where the instructions say to turn the body part "V side" out before stuffing. In other words, the pattern designer works her rounds wrong side out and then turns the rounds right side out at the end. I'm baffled by this so I thought maybe you guys can help me (I'm not a math person either). Currently I'm working with a Japanese pattern and it starts off in the 7s. So I got to 28, but in the next row it wants a 26 and I'm not sure how much you have to decrease it by to get that number. I tried a lot of possibilities and it doesn't work. >_< ( Read more... )

Hi all! I recently purchased a Japanese Amigurumi pattern book. I was wondering how exactly you read the picture patterns inside. I can muddle my way through translating but I'm curious about all the XXXs. Does anyone have a good resource for understanding how they are set up? I purchased the book "Sweets"
